Love. Creatively. Ten Minutes/Day.
What love is and isn't. 10 minute devo one day, 10 minute creative reflexion the next.
Welcome to my Substack!
This first post will introduce to you the February Creative Devo on Love, starting on February 1st and ending on February 29.
I invite you on this journey of inspiration to creatively discover God’s truth about love. I will be posting every other day throughout the month of February about a different characteristic of love (patient, kind, rejoices with the truth, is not arrogant, etc.), and then on the off days we do our own ‘creative therapy’ via a 10 minute creative reflexion. Of course, we would love to see your creativity at work and therefore hope you post it to the chat (more info below).
That reflexion can be:
a short poem
a simple drawing
writing a jingle
painting a picture
writing a brief journal entry
doing hand lettering
baking cookies
taking a photo
writing a brief love note
or whatever your creative self is inclined to do.
You’ll be pleasantly surprised at the therapeutic effect this will have on you, coupled with the healing power of truth from God’s Word working within you. Plus, creating in community has its advantages as well!
The chat space will be where you can post your creative reflexions. For that, however, you will need to become a paid subscriber, at a cost of only $ 8.00 for the month, or 36 cents per day. Why pay to subscribe? Several reasons: (1) it helps you stay committed, (2) it allows you to participate in the chat feature and share your creative reflexions, (3) it keeps internet trolls away, and (4) it helps me earn a little something to help with our financial needs during this time of transition.
Whether you pay to subscribe or choose to opt for the free subscription, I hope you’ll invite a friend to join us on this creative journey. They’ll be glad you thought of them!
Creativity is intelligence having fun. - Albert Einstein
I am excited for what we can discover this month as we learn what love truly is, and isn’t.
Blessings!
Ilona
P.S. I’m new to Substack and still trying to figure out all these buttons they include for me in these posts. Very kind of them, but I haven’t figured out how to delete the ones I don’t want. Thanks for you patience!
